Church in a Day

Clinton - 2004

On a certain time, on a certain day men from all over Central Mississippi converged with a single purpose, to build a church.  Men started arriving about 6:00 Friday morning and started preparation for the Big day.  Within hours, the walls started rising, the trusts starting resting, wires started pulling, men started sweating and I think God started smiling.

Within the next 24 hours, miracles happened.   While it rained all around the Metro area for three days, it only sprinkled.  While parts of the metro area experienced a gully washer, it was as if a sun lit dome hung over the area of Clinton and the work continued.  Deep into the early hours of Saturday morning plumbers and electricians worked feverishly to accomplish the task at hand, only to arrive back at 7:00 the same morning.   At one time, we had cars parked for close to a block away with an estimated total of being close to 100 people at one time.   We know that over 150 people came through and did something, if only eating some of the best pork chops ever cooked on a grill.  If heaven has a smell, it smelled like heaven around that barbeque pit.

Late into the night we worked, with gasoline powered lights we lit up the building like a stadium.

We concluded this with a wonderful service touched with the feeling of thanksgiving and praise for what the Lord had done in Clinton, Mississippi.

Here is photographic montage, of the land and it's progress.
